John Locke「赛事背景」

John Locke论文竞赛被称为人文社科含金量最高的国际论文比赛之一，由位于英国牛津的独立教育组织 John Locke Institute与牛津、普林斯顿、布朗等大学的教授合作举办的学术写作比赛。旨在考核学生的独立思考能力、逻辑推理能力和批判性思维。

每年暑期，该比赛吸引了全球最擅长思考和写作的中学生参与。往届优胜者遍布哈佛、耶鲁、普林斯顿、牛津、剑桥等世界名校。

竞赛内容

共有七大学科主题，分别为哲学、政治、经济、历史、心理、神学和法律；对于高年级组，每个主题设置3道提问；低年级组则不细分话题，提供6个具体的写作题目，从中择一选择。

适合群体

任何国家和任何学校的学生均可参加，参赛者分为高年级组和低年级组；Junior组：提交论文时年满14周岁及以下；Senior组：提交论文时年满18周岁及以下。

论文规范

1、字数：正文内容不超过2000字（不包括图表、数据表、注释、参考文献和作者声明等）

2、pdf的文件名必须采用以下格式：FirstName-LastName-Category-QuestionNumber.pdf

评奖原则

论文将根据知识水平和对相关材料的理解、证据的有效使用、论证的质量、结构、写作风格和说服力来进行评判。建议考生尽可能准确、直接地回答问题。所有的论文奖都由牛津大学的资深学者评审。

奖项安排

1、Grand Prize (1名）：获得John Locke Institute10,000美元的青年荣誉奖学金，可用于参加学院一个或多个 summer school或gap year课程。

2、学科领域奖（Winner、Second Prize、Third Prize各1名）：每个学科选出一个最佳作品，可获得2000美元奖学金，用于覆盖John Locke学院任何课程的费用。

3、入围奖：年度各领域的优秀文章获得High Commendation入围奖。

优质论文将会收到推荐和提名，提名名单将于7月31日（GMT）公布。

提名者将会在10月份受邀到牛津参加邀请制学术会议和晚宴，同时将会公布冠军和一二三等奖（参会和晚宴费用自费，自愿参加）。

所有入围的参赛者和获奖者，都可以下载电子证书。如果参赛者获得一等奖、二等奖或三等奖，并前往伦敦参加颁奖晚宴，则将会收到一份签名证书。
